The Aftermath of Hurricane Harvey on Port Arthur

This is the Robert A. "Bob" Bower Civic Center in Port Arthur, which was set up as a shelter because it was "higher ground" for many of the residents in the city. People fled their homes to only have to be carrying off to another shelter in Port Arthur. Residents were transported out by volunteers in boats, military helicopters, and air crafts some carried as far away as Dallas Fort Worth.

The Dallas Convention Center was set up as a shelter for evacuees and #PAStrong had a member, William Bernard, there to inform Port Arthur residents of an alternative shelter, The Way of Truth Church, which provided meals and more privacy. Several evacuees had various needs that the PA/DFW Krewe stepped up and donated.
