N.A.P.A. 2023 Biennial Reunion was an Epic Success!

The National Association of Port Arthurans (NAPA) descended on Las Vegas, Nevada for four days of reconnecting with hometown folk for fun, fellowship and future plans. Embassy Suites hosted the NAPA reunion and did an excellent job of set-up, service and hospitality,

Chapters from far and near were in attendance, i.e., Dallas Fort Worth (DFWAPA) led by Billy Filer; North California's President Pamela Butler Harris; Houston (HAPA) with President Austin McElroy; the newest chapter Atlanta (ATLAPA) led by William Gray III; and the hometown folk of Port Arthur (P.A.T.) with Carolyn Gunner as President.

The eldest attendant was 92 years young accompanied by her grandchildren in their 20's who joined in the festivities.

NAPA's 2023 - 2025 Officers are: Pamela McCurley - President; Johnnie Hulin - Vice President; Sandra Amerson - Treasurer; Judith Quimby - Financial Secretary; Cynthia Sinegal - Corresponding Secretary; Austin, McElroy - Assistant Recording Secretary; Clonie Ambrose III - Chaplin; Cathy Jackson - Parliamentarian; Christal Channel - Recording Secretary; Pamela Butler Harris - Sargent-at-Arms.

The event started off Thursday with Game Night, with food, fun, games (Family Feud, LCR - Left, Center, Right), Taboo for the Culture, Scattergories and of course, Dominoes. Friday, we shopped, made a few bets at the casino and went to a local Cajun Cafe. Saturday morning was all about business with the election of offices and the next two biennial reunion locations decided upon. But, Saturday night's gala, was all about food and fun. Line dancing. Swing dancing. Ending with a New Orleans Jazz "second line" parade around the ballroom.

Sunday culminated in a Gospel Brunch with praise songs, good food, and a dynamic Word from Clonie Ambrose III, a third-generation NAPA legacy member, Master of Biblical Studies graduate and a homegrown Port Arthuran. A great time was had by all.
